Rodent droppings, overflowing dumpster: Cumberland County restaurant inspections

The following Cumberland County restaurants were found to have violated Pennsylvania’s health and safety regulations during inspections between Dec. 13-19.

Inspections are overseen by the Department of Agriculture. The department notes that in many cases violations are corrected by the restaurant before inspectors leave.

DENIM COFFEE

Violations:

–Food facility does not have chlorine sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration of the dishwasher.

–Observed tape on the damaged door handle on the upright refrigerator. Tape is not an easily cleanable material.

–Observed a leak on the vacuum breaker on top of the dishwasher.

PLAINFIELD MART

–Commercially processed refrigerated, ready-to-eat, time/temperature control for safety food (hotdogs, meats), located in the refrigerator, and held more than 24 hours, is not being marked with the date it was opened.

–Observed 10 to 15 rodent-like droppings in the cupboard below the coffee station.

–Observed two two-quart containers of 2% milk date marked sell by 12/10/2020 and two two-quart containers of 1% milk marked sell by 12/12/2020 available for sale. These products were removed and discarded at the time of the inspection by Sam Agrawal. Value of product approximately $12.

–Potential rodent harborage areas inside the food facility observed in the three compartment sink area due to large amount of clutter.

–Potential rodent harborage areas on the exterior of the building perimeter observed in right end of the building, by the dumpster area due to old equipment, old signage, storage containers and etc..
