(The Center Square) – Governor Tom Wolf signed a 90-day statewide emergency Explanation for COVID-19 on Friday the fourth such order since March 6, 2020.
"COVID-19 vaccinations have started, but we are still in the early stages of vaccine administration," he said. "We will continue to prioritize a safe, efficient, and fair distribution process and expect vaccinations to increase as the federal government makes more vaccines available to states."
Wolf said the ongoing statement will secure state access to federal pandemic aid, so authorities can respond more quickly to emerging outbreaks and now improve vaccine delivery.

"This renewal will allow the Commonwealth to maintain its response and support efforts as we continue to conduct testing, contact tracing, and vaccination efforts to ensure the safety of Pennsylvanians," he said.
But it has been a source of frustration for the Republican-controlled legislature that Wolf is using the orders to justify unilateral and draconian pandemic restrictions without their influence.
The burden grew so much that the legislature a Constitutional amendment in just seven months, so that voters can decide the extent of the governor's emergency powers. The referendum will appear in the main vote on May 18th.
