Mount Union — I would like to thank the volunteers with the Military Share program, as they are greatly appreciated. They are out there in the heat and the cold, rain or shine. Thank you for your dedication.

– — — — –

Ardenheim — It’s funny that everything Trump does in his hissy fit during his final weeks in office to try to use his scorched earth method will be fixed in week one of Biden’s presidency. Joe will probably let the unfinished failure of a wall on the Mexican border stand as a reminder of yet another Trump failure.

– — — — –

Penn Twp. — Our Founding Fathers were ingenious. They created our country to work like the weighing scales that move back and forth. It allows everyone to have their turn to run the country. However, I don’t think it was very nice to “bully” a standing president from day one in his office. No on likes bullies. The behavior of some Americans was completely wrong and out of line. Now there is a big divide in our country. It will take a while to heal, but we all know our country works on the balancing scales. It will change again. Everyone will have their turn.

– — — — –

Penn Twp. — The world is a different world now. We must be protected from evil people. If not for the evil people, we would not need to build fences and walls. “The Wall” at Mexico was a good thing and built at the right time. It has prevented the cartels from transporting illegal drugs and creating more drug addicts. It stops the criminal predators and gangs from destroying our country. It protects us from human traffickers who steal our children and adults and make them into sex slaves — or kill them for their body parts. “The Wall” was a good thing at the right time. It works! It allows the good and “legal” people to come through the wall to become Americans. We thank you, President Donald J. Trump, for doing as we have asked.

– — — — –

Walker Twp. — As of Nov. 25, Trump and his allies have filed over 30 lawsuits across the country to try to overturn Joe Biden’s win. Most of these cases have been denied, dismissed, settled or withdrawn. No court has found a single case of voter fraud. Biden leads in the electoral college by 306 to 232 (a margin that Trump called a “landslide” in 2016); he is ahead of Trump in the popular vote by over 6 million. It’s way over!

– — — — –

Huntingdon — Here are some of the things Joe Biden has done for you in the past 47 years: Sent many of our jobs to China and other overseas countries by voting/supporting NAFTA and GAFTA; higher taxes; higher unemployment; higher prices; longer jail sentences for criminals; higher medical costs; lower income or the poor and middle class families; fewer opportunities for poor and middle class kids to attend college; a weak military; higher crime; weakening of your constitutional rights (Second Amendment and others); fewer opportunities for minorities and women; he has been and is now under investigation for wrongdoing; he has made numerous racial comments and the list goes on and on. And what’s really sad is that this can be all fact checked. Just remember, you voted him into office!

– — — — –

Huntingdon — I fear for our education system in Huntingdon County. To the person that said we fought World War II to defeat socialism, we were actually fighting to defeat fascism. Hitler and Mussolini were not socialists. May I suggest that you head down to the Huntingdon County Library? I’m sure they have a few books on the subject that might help you understand. Or a quick Google search could do the trick, too. I found this for fascism: “a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.” Sound familiar?

– — — — –

Huntingdon — Please someone explain this — long lines for food, people starving, yet “biggest Cyber Monday sales ever.”

– — — — –

Huntingdon — Should we not let our neighbors shop, visit their ill family members, educate their children, express their interests, in total freedom from government edicts or the expectations of uniformity and blind compliance from others? Let our fear and doubt be our own. Let us not impose on others our insecurities. As stated in the great state of New Hampshire, “Live free or die.” Are our children, and children yet unborn, not deserving of a future free of the fears and prejudices of the present? Masks are no longer being worn to save lives, but to save face, save face for all those who have promulgated the awful lie that binds people to false security and keeps them in fear. It’s time to turn off the 24/7 news that feeds that fear. Take a look around you that isn’t influenced by a fear mongering media. You may be surprised.

– — — — –

Blairs Mills — If you’re afraid to live your life because you might die, you’ve already died.

– — — — –

Mount Union — Will the Biden administration be able to destroy America in one term or will it take two?

– — — — –

Huntingdon Co. — Because of the cross, we have the tree (Christmas). Merry Christmas and God bless you all.

– — — — –

Alexandria — Citizens, consider the testimony presented in Gettysburg concerning presidential election irregularities. The hearing can be heard on YouTube and is titled, “Watch Again: Guiliani attends election hearing in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.” To get the complete argument, watch all three hours. If not, watch the second half, although you’ll miss some powerful testimony. At the minimum, watch the last 15 minutes. This is critically important. Christians, I appeal to your sense of honor. Passivity is a horrid choice. How could you take no interest in hearing both sides of this divisive issue? Evaluate the evidence and testimony! I believe you will find honorable, sincere and knowledgeable people testifying. Election tampering poisons many countries and evidence suggests it is now affecting the U.S. We must fix this in Pennsylvania and ensure that new laws protect election integrity always. Complete strangers in media are thinking for you. Think for yourself. Two sides!

– — — — –

Huntingdon — When it comes to disease prevention, people have totally lost it. I have to wear a mask to protect the smokers from my germs while they blow their cancer-causing smoke into my air. I wear a mask, but at our largest store I observed one of the checkouts pick both nostrils of her nose while she was waiting for another customer to get into line. Obviously she did not wash her hands. I overheard one woman say to her friend that she has worn the same clothes for the last three days. Obviously she has carried those germs around for the last three days. Her friend admitted to her that, “At least I took a shower yesterday.” Several times lately the clerks have been obviously sick when I was checking out.

– — — — –

Huntingdon — Do not let Wolf legalize pot. This will be the soma of the masses. People are stupid enough already without dope. The society will be reduced to slavery for the government. Just give us more dope to keep us under control. We will be addicted just like an addict and big government controls us. We are worse off than the movie 1984. Our cellphones are tracked. You have Alexa and Siri listening to everything we say. Your doorbell knows when you come home and who comes to your house. Watch 1984 and see where we are.

– — — — –

Mount Union — Bravo to all who are working diligently to make Mount Union festive this holiday. Be sure and look at all the gingerbread house entries in the beautifully decorated windows on Shirley Street.

– — — — –

Huntingdon — Trump’s opponents have never given him a moment’s rest, never a benefit of the doubt, never any cooperation. Many Trump haters have been lying about the president, what his record has been and who his supporters are. The liberal media has shown him in a negative light. Never in my lifetime have I seen such one-sided coverage. Joe Biden, who the media characterizes as a nice, harmless fellow, has portrayed Trump as a racist and has said Trump is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans from COVID-19. It is the Democrats and their policies that are divisive. Through identity politics, they stir people against one another. But now that they believe the election is over, many Trump haters are calling for unity and some for incarceration of his supporters. What they really mean is, don’t do to Biden what we did to Trump.

– — — — –

Porter Twp. — The very definition of ignorance in action; stupid, stubborn, irresponsible Republican state Senate and House members won’t wear masks, endangering all around them, violating their oath of office, just like Trump. More proof that the rest of us need to form another sane Republican Party, leaving the likes of Jake Corman behind. Sen. Toomey seems to be waking from his Trump stupor at last. Good for him and us. Better way late than never, but we won’t forget his party line support for Trump. Never. Just like Trump, never again. Now, everybody’s corrupt but Trump. Everybody. Just listen to him.

– — — — –

Saxton — There is no dispute Trump received over 75% of the votes cast for president in Huntingdon and surrounding predominately Republican counties. Yet conversely there are many who find it inconceivable and fraudulent that Joe Biden similarly received more than 75% of the vote in Pennsylvania’s largest and predominantly Democratic counties. Considering the demographics, these margins are logical. Of Pennsylvania’s approximate 8.5 million voters at the beginning of 2020, there were 807,930 more registered Democrats than Republicans. The logic of the implication of the Democratic plurality has been lost in an election that is the most partisan and personal in our lifetime. The intensity of the rhetoric resulted in unparalleled loyalty to the two candidates and record turnout by both parties, giving Biden the most votes. The qualities of logic and reason have temporarily vanished from the minds of many who have long been respected for being free and independent thinkers.

– — — — –

Walker Twp. — Election Day was four weeks ago. Time to take down the signs. I’d like to enjoy the Christmas decorations without seeing your junky signs. Keeping them up won’t change the outcome.

– — — — –

James Creek — Isn’t it amazing the country that created the Wuhan coronavirus and SARS is the same country from which we buy our masks and cleaning supplies? And Rachel, the more we wear our masks, the more we get sick. We social distance, wear masks, work from home and don’t leave our house and we still get more cases now than ever. I missed seeing my grandchildren and family for Thanksgiving. And now they tell me I won’t see them for Christmas either. If this is living, well, I would rather be sick.

– — — — –

James Creek — People have lost their social skills. No manners, no patience, going shopping everyone is ignorant. Other customers block aisles, refuse to give you social distance and common courtesy. Now they are complaining sales are down. Every time I got to buy something, they are out. No paper towels, toilet paper or cleaning supplies.

– — — — –

Oneida Twp. — Soon the state will be providing legal recreational for the people. This is the same tactic used by drug dealers to control addicts. Give them enough to get hooked then they will do whatever you want to get more. This has been done with alcohol during the pandemic. You could not buy supplies in the store, but you could buy as much to drink as you want. But destroy the bars. They compete with the government. This is done also with gambling and free money. We are addicted to the free money handed out by the government. It is now more profitable to stay home than go to work. As long as the free money comes.

– — — — –

Huntingdon — Here’s an interesting scenario: if Mr. Trump learns he can’t pardon himself for his crimes in office, he might resign at the last minute and be pardoned by President Pence. You read it in the Opinion Line, so it must be true.

– — — — –

Oneida Twp. — On Kyper Road, the Shucks outdid themselves with Christmas lights. That’s a very beautiful display of Christmas lights that will take your thoughts into the season.

– — — — –

Huntingdon — This is to all the hunters who think they’re great hunters out in the woods hunting baby deer and shooting baby bears. You’re not great hunters, you’re just like little kids going out to do killing. Grow up and kill live animals bigger than than a little baby. I’ve seen little does you wouldn’t even get 10 pounds of meat out of and I’ve heard of bears being less than 25 pounds, so I don’t think that makes you a hunter, it makes you a killer.

– — — — –

Smithfield — I just have to say I feel really sorry for Trump. He’s evidently losing control of his mind and his family and Republican backers aren’t there for him to help him realize he needs help and we need help badly. We need those people who refuse to wear the mask to wear the mask to keep people from dying. Right now they’re killing people. Trump, the Republican Party, the Christians, they’re all not wearing masks or social distancing and they’re killing people. This is such a shame. God, forgive them.

– — — — –

Cromwell Twp. — The Department of Justice and the FBI are two of the most worthless taxpayer-paid whatever you want to call it in Washington. They’re worthless. They don’t do their jobs, only in certain instances. That’s my tax money going to waste. D.C. is just a joke.

– — — — –

Cromwell Twp. — Well, it’s so typical of the parents and teachers who want the schools open the most are the ones that do the most reckless and dangerous things like having a homecoming dance and a football banquet with no masks and social distancing. Southern Huntingdon, if you want things back to normal, then grow up and be responsible citizens. Wear a mask and social distance and quit having dances and banquets.

– — — — –

Cromwell Twp. — This presidential election was run like a third-world country. Unbelievable!

– — — — –

Huntingdon Co. — When are all the district school superintendents going to explain to everyone the different providers used today to help our children learn today. We need exact explanations from them. I thought that’s what we were paying them for, to help our children learn.

– — — — –

Alexandria — I have a yard and it’s grass and it’s not meant to be driven on, so please don’t drive in anyone’s grass. It just shows disrespect and stupidity.

– — — — –

Henderson Twp. — Biden’s incoming cabinet doesn’t look anything like the band of felons Trump surrounded himself with. Maybe when Biden leaves office, he won’t have to pardon his whole cabinet like Trump did.

– — — — –

Huntingdon — Destruction of homes and cemeteries go together. Love and respect have been traded for, “I deserve.” Parents and churches are not expressing any responsibility. Respect in any matter is celebrated as a matter of everyday life. Every grade indicates someone who’s given something to the world. Human beings may not take time to learn what everyone gives to us. Oh, God. After Thanksgiving and we couldn’t take time to think of all the things God gives us. It’s no wonder our country is in a mess. Too busy grabbing to say thank you to God, not politicians.

– — — — –

Huntingdon — I get it, the people of Huntingdon are tired of Penn Street being closed six months after the Blair Building fire. What about the residents who are still struggling to move on? Why hasn’t there been any followup on them? It seems as though they can’t even get legal representation to help get some answers. These residents are elderly, disabled and were living there because of low income. Now that they’re without a place like that, many can’t afford an apartment in Huntingdon or elsewhere and there are no low income places available. If Mount Union can turn an empty schoolhouse into senior living, why can’t Huntingdon do something with the empty buildings in this town?

– — — — –

Mount Union — I went out to see the EBT. Welcome back to the southern Huntingdon County area. It really looks good. We’re rooting for you to make it. I think we all need this little train in our town. A couple weeks ago I saw in the Opinion Line about how the town of Rockhill was looking, so while I was there I rode around a little bit. I was a little surprised to see someone was telling the truth about all the junk vehicles sitting around. I saw a vehicle with all the windows busted out of it. I saw one sitting on the street that looked like it’s been sitting there for years, all black from the trees. Hopefully someone will get control of that and get it cleaned up since the railroad is going to start again and there will be more people in town.

– — — — –

Rockhill — New York socialist governor recently received three Emmy awards for the way he created havoc during the pandemic. The first Emmy was for killing the most senior citizens of any state. The second Emmy was for wasting the most COVID-19 money. He told President Trump he needed a Naval medical ship for victims and he needed many extra thousands of ventilators which he didn’t use at all. The third Emmy was for being the worst of all the other states. As far as Gov. Wolf, he should get an Emmy for being the second top state for killing senior citizens. The second Emmy he should get for tying New York for being the worst dictator of all.

– — — — –

Saltillo — They say five to 10,000 PennDOT employees could be laid off by the end of the year. If PennDOT would stop spending at least a billion dollars around the State College area year after year, we wouldn’t even be talking about layoffs.

– — — — –

Brady Twp. — Maybe the Democrats don’t realize it, but the can of worms they opened before the election was all unconstitutional. Those changes to election laws have to be made by legislators and nobody else. No wonder President Trump is upset. Where is the FBI and the justice department? I recommend scrapping their paychecks if they’re not going to take this important case of unconstitutional voting fraud because it affects all future elections.

– — — — –

Mill Creek — I would like to say that I, for one, believe there are fraud things going on with this election. I’ve heard from people who work at a grocery store and they’ve been saying they were told by their superiors that if they didn’t vote for Biden they would be fired. I have heard this numerous times. I wonder, because they said it, how many others corporations or companies told their employees the same thing.

– — — — –

Smithfield — Trump will put millions and millions of dollars out for recount, recount and recount of votes across the nation but he won’t give people money to help them. People who are unemployed who don’t have money to buy food. He will do this and show nothing for the American people who are paying for the recounts he is having. Now what kind of fair is this?

– — — — –

Huntingdon — Trump doesn’t pay taxes, he plays golf while 30 million people are starving. Just think, a billionaire who doesn’t pay taxes. I’m retired military and I pay more taxes than him. What happened to Spiro Agnew?

– — — — –

Huntingdon Co. — Joe Biden got five deferments so he didn’t have to serve his county in a time of war, Vietnam. There was no such thing as a deferment for poor, Black, Hispanic or White young men. I guess this just goes to show he can go jogging. There’s nothing wrong with him. Once a liar, always a liar.

– — — — –

Huntingdon — Would you please put the candles in the windows at DeForrest Apartments again this year? I missed them last year and they always look so pretty in the windows with the old-fashioned electric wreath with the red bulbs. There was only one in the first window and it would be nice if you’d put them in every window like they were before.

– — — — –

Huntingdon Co. — Can someone tell me if we’ll be able to get the vaccine for free or will Social Security pay for it? And how can we get it? If we have to pay for it, how much will it cost?
