Veterans, as well as Adams County, PA residents & Hanover, PA residents are invited to enjoy complimentary admission to the Gettysburg Heritage Center on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. The museum is open to visitors from 11 am – 5 pm, with the last entrance into the exhibit area at 4:00 pm. The invitation allows for more locals to come and experience what the Heritage Center has to offer, beyond the regular complimentary admission that is offered to Gettysburg residents year-round.
“This year has brought many challenges to us both personally and professionally, and Veterans Day gives us an opportunity to say, ‘Thank you’, to both our veterans, and the local community for their continued support,“ explains Heritage Center President, Tammy Myers. “This is also an opportunity to let our community know that we are open, and still offering tours both of our museum, and of the battlefield with our various partners.”
Local guests should be prepared to show proof of residency, upon entering the Heritage Center. The Gettysburg Heritage Center will continue to offer complimentary admission year-round to Gettysburg residents with at 17325 zip-code.
The Gettysburg Heritage Center, a non-profit business, offers visitors a visual and interactive orientation to both the town, and the three-day battle. The story of Gettysburg unfolds for guests through various displays, 3-D programming, and historic artifacts. Much of the success of the museum is due to various private & public partnerships, including the American Battlefield Trust, and the collaborative efforts with Adams County Historical Society & Land Conservancy of Adams County.
