Adams Passes 2,000 COVID Cases, With a Quarter of Them in the Past Two Weeks – Gettysburg Connection

The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Adams County has soared over the past two weeks, bringing the total cases to 2,003. This means that almost two percent of the county has been diagnosed with COVID.

There were 510 cases reported in the last two weeks.

The last two weeks also brought eight new deaths, making a total of 47.

At the Gettysburg hospital, 23 patients are now being treated for COVID-19.

The trends in the county are closely following those in the state although the county’s positivity rate of 6.6% is substantially lower than the state average of 11.7%.

A positive sign is that the positivity rate only increased by one percent in the state and three percent in the county last week. This means the number of people with COVID in the county may be leveling off.

But there is also a chance for another surge following the Thanksgiving holiday.
