20-year-old man killed in Penn Hills shooting

A 20-year-old man was killed in a shooting in Penn Hills early Friday morning, police said.Allegheny County homicide detectives said the shooting was reported shortly after 12:10 a.m. in the 200 block of Curtis Street.Police said several people were helping the victim when first responders arrived on scene.”I was watching TV, and I heard what sounded like fireworks, and I looked out the window and there was a man laying in the driveway,” a neighbor told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4. “His friend was hovering over him. A couple of them were over there.”The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries. His name has not yet been released.Police said the man, along with two other people, had attended a Halloween party on Curtis Street.”As the victim and the two other individuals left the party, they were met by gunfire,” police said. “A Dodge Charger attempted to flee the area and crashed into a tree. This vehicle was abandoned, and detectives are attempting to determine the occupants.”Anyone who has information about the shooting is asked to call county police at 833-ALL-TIPS (833-255-8477). Anonymous calls will be accepted.
